Overlooked
The Housatonic River flows from its source near Pittsfield, Massachusetts to Long Island Sound. On the Sheffield Plain in western Massachusetts it slows, gathering itself into a series of graceful bends that wind through fields and meadows. Seen from above, the river describes an ever-changing geometry, shaping the agricultural landscape around it. I am captivated by the river's course and the bordering farmland as it snakes slowly south. These photographs observe that ongoing conversation between water, land, and time.
