At the beginning of each year, I like to review my images from the past year and pick out some to comment on. In 2014, I worked a lot on my project, The Edge of Night. But I made other images as well. Here is one I took last spring at the Audubon Swamp Garden, part of the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina. The main attraction of this swamp for most people, I think, are the birds—egrets, ibises, herons—as well as alligators, but for me a swamp is about the trees and the water.
